To go further, note that the screen has a contrast ratio of 1000:1, a dynamic contrast ratio of 000:1 50 000, a brightness of 400 cd/m2, and to a response time of 2ms. Expected release in the month of April at a price still unknown ...

A new 3D monitor from ViewSonic

ViewSonic has unveiled its V3D245, a 3D monitor with a diagonal of 24 "but not, as also has an LED backlit panel, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a response time of 2ms, a brightness of 300 nits, or an HDMI 1.4 socket and a wireless transmitter NVIDIA 3D Vision. Naturally, the monitor in question comes with a pair of 3D glasses adjusted. Expected release in the month of August in the land of Uncle Sam for $ 499.

How to choose the best system of monitoring games

Not surprisingly, players take their computers and computer peripherals very seriously. The reason is they spend a considerable period of time with these products, it makes sense that choosing the right model could be a lengthy process. This rule does not apply, however, strictly on the desktop itself. While this is certainly a major purchase, monitors the game are almost as important. This is the strategy by the fact that the player has the ability to view the game, and so heavy game fans make their own monitors game very seriously.
Choosing the right model, however, could be very overwhelming. After the computer, the monitor may be the piece of equipment that makes you go back far the most, and because it can be a significant investment, it is imperative that you acquire good help if the decision is difficult.

The primary key to determine is that if you want to go with the cheaper monitors (but old) CRT gaming or even the new (but ultimately more expensive) selection panel. Almost every player chooses the latter, even if the game screens will generally be more expensive. However, there are certainly a lot of good news. Because they have essentially taken over the world of computer monitors, essentially erasing the style CRT, LCD displays are increasingly cheaper to make. This will allow an extremely viable selection of games for your monitor.
The advantages of LCD monitors are numerous and, without reference to the price, get them to be a wise choice. Not only are they generally lighter and smaller in size, they use even less power, which can be good for the planet and your electricity bill. Another major advantage for LCD is still playing the video's easier on your eyes. Especially if you're generally looking at the screen for long periods of time. This one is definitely an advantage to have an LCD monitor proudly. As long as players are likely to spend long periods in front of the screen, a monitor will play almost exclusively one type of LCD screen.
Another important factor in the choice of buying monitors games would certainly be the size. It is largely an individual preference, however, if you want your adventure game to get the most real and remarkable that you can, a larger screen might be just what you need. Usually the game screens are available in sizes between 15 and twenty three inches. Many people choose 17-inch monitors, to find this size large enough to satisfy all needs playing game without having to take up too much room on your desk.

Perhaps the most essential key to consider, however, is often a response rate of the monitor. Overall, the response rate will be considered the time it takes for each individual pixel to respond to a change in color. It takes longer than expected, you will experience what is called "ghost". This is the time an image lingers on the screen, so it can be absolutely terrible to the gaming experience If you buy with the intention of using it as a display of aggressive play, make sure the response rate is equal to or less than 8 milliseconds. This can be a primary aspect that CRT monitors have an advantage, often with a response rate of just 2 milliseconds.
LED monitors gaming seriously gained significant popularity especially with its load with advantages over previous technologies. There is no doubt that the most intense players are choosing these types of monitors! Slowly, you will see comparisons of all styles of games on the screen, see what is is perfect for you. Below are the best deals on the market today, including the most critical, particularly identified with the method of play of the user. In addition, all the important elements to take note when searching:

Display Port: Billed as the successor to the type of HDMI and DVI, Display Port is often a connection to more bandwidth to facilitate monitoring lighter and thinner, because they would not need a single circuit (and electronics to operate the circuits) to get the video signal. Adoption of this technology has been scarce, so long as you expect.
pixel response rate: This indicates how quickly a pixel can turn colors, calculated in milliseconds (ms) to reduce the number of milliseconds, the faster the pixels can change, reducing the effect of streaks or ghosts, you may see a change or moving images. According to new studies, however, it is likely that you will not see streaks or ghost images on a screen when watching a modern film.

input shift: A delay during which monitors the image is behind what has been sent to the screen. Not all overdue notices display person, and sellers rarely, if ever, to quote the figure of their screens. input offset affects most players. If split-second reactions are essential in the context of your gaming sessions, search for Late monitor game before buying.
Ergonomic options: Most monitors offer a tipping point screen, usually thirty degrees to the rear and five degrees forward. Some include a swivel part, many offer height adjustment, and some panels can also pivot between landscape and portrait modes, making legal-size documents and Web sites easier to view. Some LCD screens are usually attached to the VESA-compatible wall mounts that hook with third party carriers or arms dangling.

Resolution: Dictated by the screen size, aspect ratio, and often manufacturing digression. Make sure you are comfortable with native resolution, an LCD before you buy. Remember, an LCD game that scales the chart to a non-native resolution will never look as good.
USB: Most monitors have USB ports. In general, they are not powered hubs, but simply convenient ports to connect devices at low power, such as a mouse or keyboard, reducing the tangle of cables that usually run directly into the computer tower.

Audio: Some monitors offer audio feature set, or as standard parts or optional additional accessories. This may be a volume control, built-in speakers or a headphone jack. Overall, these speakers are of poorer quality, with a low price of thirty dollars sound system from an office supply store or computer will most likely be more sound.
Angle of view: in large part dictated by the latest display technology. The physical structure of LCD pixels could potentially cause the brightness and maybe even the color images to change for those who look at an angle rather than facing the screen directly. Take manufacturer's specifications seriously, as they test their products for the building.

Choosing the Best Monitor for Gaming

Looking to buy a monitor to use for games? The monitor is one of the most expensive computer, so you should learn some basic information before going out and spending your money on a monitor of shit. This article will help you buy the best monitor for gaming.

The first thing you should ask yourself is whether you want a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitor or a newer LCD flat screen monitor. CRT monitors are old and bulky, and we do not recommend. LCD monitors are the norm today.

LCD monitors have many advantages over old-style CRT monitors. They are thin, lightweight and compact, and will not take much space on your desktop. LCD screens are also easier on the eyes and use less energy than CRT monitors.

Response Rate:

The response rate of a monitor is perhaps one of the most important specifications you need to consider if you will be games. The response rate simply refers to how fast the updates to its LCD monitor. Monitors with slower response rates will suffer what is known as "ghost images."

The ghosting effect will be visible if you play high-paced games, like a first person shooter. It is when the previous image is displayed on the screen can still be seen as a blur for a split second after the image has updated. Do not worry if it does not make sense to you, all you need to know is that the higher the response rate of a monitor, the less "ghosting" around you.
I recommend buying a monitor with a response rate of 8 ms (8 ms) or lower. The lower the better. Best monitors on the market offer very good response rate, as 4ms or 2ms. With a screen like this, you would completely avoid "ghosting" effect altogether.

What size monitor is best?

Buy the biggest monitor you can afford, it's that simple. With a bigger screen, you can enjoy the gaming experience more surreal. Play a 3D high end of the game on a large 22 "Widescreen LCD Monitor is a totally different experience than playing on a small screen 17". Sizes for monitors range from 15 inches all the way up to 22 inches and up.

Monitor calibration: color test

Check below the calibration of your screen.
If the monitor (screen) is set, it must display numbers from 0% to 80% in the columns black, red, green and blue.
Above 90% in all columns, balancing and rendering of the screen are exceptional.

Take into account only the digits in front of which you can read the words.
This test is preferably carried out in complete darkness
and when the screen was lit in a position more than 30 minutes.

Compare the records of tests of monitor from 21 to 30 inches,

Which monitor to choose? You can either see all of our trials in this comparison, compare yourself displays in face-to-face monitors, or you simply go straight to the point, in our selection of the best instructors time.

22 to 28 inches, there are several kinds. The most advanced offer wide viewing angles, foot smart (height adjustable, pivot ...), multiple video inputs, and even a digital tuner (the monitor is then used as extra television). Next definition, among those still 1680 x 1050 pixels and a majority in 1920 x 1080 pixels, it's your choice: more pixels to display more information on the screen, or less to gain visibility?

In contrast, the first screen prices are not necessarily bad, but there are more basic. The feet are fixed, there is often only a VGA input (even if the DVI still tends to spread, even on the first price) and the tiles are of the TN 5 ms. In practice this means that the image turns black when seen from below, and that the games will be subject to a slight persistence (moving objects are blurred).

The screen is almost perfect:
1. Highly reactive (less than 1 color afterimage on average) and promptly display excessive.
2. True color default (<3). 3. High contrast (contrast> 800:1 and 200 cd / m² Black = <0.25 cd / m²). 4. With open viewing angles, which provide good color consistency. 5. With a high level of ergonomics, especially an intelligent walking on rotating base, adjustable height ... Realistically, this screen is not perfect, or it is overpriced. However, to screen claims that the famous five star, it will be at a maximum of five key criteria is missing. If it lacks two, it will be up to 4 stars - except to make up with very interesting options. 20, 22 or 24 inches?
19 to 20 inches do not much appeal against the 22'': their prices are too close. Now, the concern would rather above the price of 24 inches is in free fall. So much so that models of this diagonal are the cheapest price 22-inch mid-range. Of the 24'', we gain a little ease of use, but is lost in space.

One last point: the new generation relies on original functions to stand out. There are monitors with TV tuner, while others can display games in relief (with special glasses), and even - finally - the screens that can display 120 frames per second instead of 60, to completely forget the persistence and improve the flow of the sequences.

Compare flat screens: LCD screens from 22 to 30 inches

Which monitor to choose? You can either see all of our trials in this comparison, compare yourself displays in face-to-face monitors, or you simply go straight to the point, in our selection of the best instructors time.
The display market has further evolved. The 22-inch LCD is becoming a standard entry level, those who want quality, innovation, true comfort, will have to turn to screens 23 inches or more. You win with them viewing angles more open interfaces of many and varied - the HDMI comes to a growing number of monitors, the YUV expensive consoles is less rare - finishes and designs more treatment. Technology enthusiasts will be thrilled: the efforts of manufacturers are now concentrating on these major diagonals. It was predictable with the advent of HD, a growing number of users looking for a multi-purpose screen, good at the office, but the picture for movies - HD necessarily.

Battle sound technology with new consumer to the key benefits:
Whether you opt for a screen 22, 23, 24, 26, 27 or 28-inch resolution is almost always the same: 1920 x 1080 pixels (a few 1920 x 1200 pixels resist). It's built for HD movies. No resizing is required. Only requirement: a little step back. Manufacturers still do not have the image correction circuits available in televisions. Result: it teems a bit. The 30-inch display 2560 x 1600 pixels each. It is a dream to work ... if your office supports it.

Less than 300 euros, you will be surprised to find both 24, as 26 inches, the latter sometimes being more aggressive price than the former. But they are often less reactive. The selection criteria: make sure they offer a really high contrast level, and they have many video inputs you need. All are not necessarily HDMI + DVI + VGA ...

Above 300 euros, you will find screens VA and IPS panels (PVA in most cases). Their big advantage is their viewing angles are homogeneous, when those of LCDs Economic TN turn black when viewed from below. The result is a visual color uniformity disturbed when the VA and IPS displays is perfect.

How to choose your computer monitor?

A guide for choosing the monitor for you:

The first flat panels have taken the format "square" of CRT, and if at the time each technology still had its advantages and disadvantages, today, only the TFT remain.
Fortunately, technological advances have eliminated almost all the shortcomings of flat screens.
Originally reserved for the office because of their small size and "slowness" display, over the years, TFTs have become larger with ever higher resolutions, but also much faster.
They are therefore suitable for all uses: Multimedia, image editing, video games, even in three dimensions!
Choosing the best flat screen as needed, however, requires some knowledge in order not to find the high and dry ...

Evolution:
With very few exceptions, the CRTs have existed only format 4 / 3 as the old TV.
The first flat panels 14 and 15 inches have also taken this with a typical resolution of 1024x768 pixels.
Their size has increased rapidly with the arrival of 17 and 19 inch models even more square (5 / 4 with a resolution of 1280x1024).
The boom in DVD-Video, however, led to a major development. Indeed, movies are encoded in a format much wider than high.
TFT displays then adopted the format "wide" or wider, that is to say, 16/10. In the process, the diagonals have soared to 24 and even 30 inches with resolutions from 1680x1050 to 2560x1600!
With the democratization of film and Blu-ray players, PC monitors have been a new development close to televisions. Indeed, they mainly use two resolutions 16 / 9: HD (1366x768) and Full HD (1920x1080).
Also, movie playback Full HD HDCP requires a secure connection, which led to an evolution of the connectors of the screens ...

An operating principle:

Although the basic principle remains the same, there are three main types of TFT panels. TN tiles are the most widely used mainly because of their low cost.

* TN + Film (Twisted Nematic + Film) is the technology that has made the most progress in terms of display speed. The color is now correct but the viewing angles are reduced compared with the other two technologies. In addition, they sometimes have a tingling effect in the videos. These screens have two main advantages: price and lack of persistence. They are particularly interesting for the players and the budget.
* IPS (In-Plane Switching) is a technology developed by Hitachi and NEC. It has comparatively less evolved and if it is still characterized by a particularly excellent color with very deep blacks and wide viewing angles, it still fishing with a high response time. The IPS TFT type are well suited for graphics work or video as they do not swarm. Their price is for above-average against.
* MVA (Multi-Domain Vertical Alignment) and PVA (Patterned Vertical Alignment) technology or more generally included under the name VA have recently been the subject of much attention. Indeed, they can combine a high speed such as "TN" while maintaining a very good color reproduction and wide viewing angles that are the strength of the "IPS". The "VA" suffer less of that tingling "TN" and therefore as the most versatile TFT. In terms of prices, they place themselves between the "TN" and "IPS". Probably the best choice for everyone!

Diagonal and resolution:
The smallest diagonal now available is 19 inches. It goes hand in hand with HD resolution, that is to say 1366x768.
This type of screen, inexpensive, is suitable mainly for basic office.
A cut above the TFT 20-inch offer a better resolution: 1600x900.
They have a much better working space and greater ease of use but are unable to display without degrading the Full HD (which require 1080 pixels high).

From 22 inches, there are several formats for resolutions 16/10 and 16 / 9 live again.
Thus, there are many models and some 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 in 1920x1080.
These last two resolutions, however, lead to a relatively small display characters that will not suit everyone ...

20 to 23 inch screens have a very good price / performance ratio and a beautiful work space that gives them versatility.

From 24-inch "Full HD" is expressed fully with the resolutions 1920x1080 and 1920x1200 perfectly usable.
These screens are open to all uses in the same "mini home theater." They guarantee total immersion in games and a generous work space without necessarily breaking the budget.

Quit talking about money, very large screens (28 inches and above) at 2560x1600 do not really know for a lower price and far exceed € 1500!

Response time, contrast, viewing angles and brightness:

Connectors:
The video signal can pass through many formats, and so there is a large number of analog and digital connectors.
The most common is the analog connector "VGA". It provides a correct picture quality ...
For large screens (23 inches and over), DVI digital interface is the most common. It supports HDCP required for the return of the outcome of Full HD Blu-Ray.
The DVI interface is now in competition with the new interfaces DisplayPort and HDMI, which also carry the sound.
A digital interface is highly recommended for large screens and a must for watching movies in Full HD and stereoscopic 3D.

analog:
* Composite: low quality best suited to SD, the end of life
* S-Video: correct quality for the SD, making unusual
* VGA: good signal quality, taken very common
* Component: very good signal quality, taken very rare on PC screens

digital:
* DVI: excellent signal, HDCP support, making current
* HDMI: excellent signal, HDCP support, not yet widespread
* DisplayPort: excellent signal, HDCP support, not yet widespread

LCD Monitors Buying Guide

The monitor is the man - machine interface of choice, which restores the device visually everything is running on the computer. There are plenty of references for different types of uses: video games, office, photography or film. To help you quickly identify the monitor for you, we've put together a selection of products by categories.

There has been little change since the last guide dating from November 2010. Especially in the category of monitors for moviegoers, almost unchanged. However, we greatly refreshed the categories of "office" and "video games" with models in all very recent. And class "picture" that had failed in many of you is back here! Those who would get in legs with a clearing specifications can start by reading our article How to Choose an LCD.

The selection criteria are basically the same. For office, we focused ergonomic models (height adjustment, rotating base, pivot function of the panel, USB ports ...), often green. For the video game, quick screens remain the key. Refresh rate of 120 Hz is required for access to 3D, a response time of between 2 and 3 ms is required to obtain a clear image in motion. Film fans will opt for their part in a large screen, if possible with IPS LCD panels type most appropriate to movie watching (less than tingling, wider viewing angles, but much more expensive). Finally, for photographers, from amateurs to experienced, it is a true color screen that broadcasts a uniform display.

Small final note to clarify that our usual selection was made, for most models, based on assessments based on product specifications, and not extensive testing. It is not a comparison but a guide to action.

LCD and plasma TVs the best

A clear and accessible to all the technical terms to consider when buying a new TV. Beginners welcome!
You do not understand anything about modern TV? 100 Hz, 1080p, LCD, Plasma ... are abstract terms that are part of a jungle where you get lost? Do not worry, our comparison of television is here to guide you if you want to scan the whole market.
Otherwise, to answer your questions and go straight to the point, you can visit the buying guide that contains the selection of models that we prefer.

What are the 100 Hz and 200 Hz? How to have a perfectly smooth?
On plasma TVs, 100 Hz is used to reduce image flicker. On the LCD TV is different: the 100 Hz reduce the afterglow (see box) during rapid movements. At 200 Hz the remanence is completely undetectable.

In addition to the 100 Hz or 200 Hz modes are added occasionally to reduce jerkiness, called Motionflow (Sony), HDNM (HD Natural Motion Philips), Movie Plus (Samsung), the TruMotion (LG) ... to calculate all the intermediate images to images of the original film. These systems are essential for those who are allergic to the slightest twitch. They sometimes create a video effect that repels some, but it is still possible to disable them.
Finally, the 100 Hz (or more) is an essential but not sufficient, to watch TV in 3D.

Définition HD Ready ou Full HD ?
HDTV Ready displays at least 720 lines, while a full HD displays at least 1080 lines. And 1080 lines, it is precisely the definition used by the TNT HD and Blu-ray. We must therefore choose what type of TV to enjoy HD, true!

We recommend the course of 1080 TV lines, especially since they are now very affordable. The models offer 720 lines tend to disappear gradually.

Should we believe the number of contrasts announced? No!
You can simply ignore the number of contrasts announced by the manufacturers. It is calculated in terms of optimizing this measure, far from ideal conditions to watch a movie. For example, the contrast of a TV announced in 1000 drops to around 000:1 to 2000:1 1000 with the settings to display the best image.
Still, the increase in numbers in the range of a manufacturer can compare the quality of models it offers. These figures are of course incomparable from one manufacturer to another. Rely instead on our measurements.

Plasma or LCD?
It is clear that the LCD is on the rise and alone accounts for the overwhelming majority of TVs sold. The plasma is exceeded this mean? No, absolutely not! It even presents some arguments against the LCD viewing angles ultra-large, excellent color matching, an image very soft and natural, dense blacks, and a price often below the LCD of the same quality. For these reasons, they often favor with home-movie fans - the home cinema freaks in search of the perfect image. However, they sometimes suffer from marking the slab when they leave a still image for too long. Their use is not recommended with computers. The latest generations pass, however, well with game consoles
In contrast, the LCD viewing angles suffers from closer and let in some light through the dark when it shifts the axis of the screen. In addition, only good quality LCD offers a level of black dense. Indeed, residues of light always manage to cross the LCD crystals where they should be black.
They are, however, insensitive to the mark and go great with game consoles and computers. TV Full HD 26-inch or 32 is also wonderful for use''flexible TV / PC monitor.''

Audio, video and photo:
While many now offer TV playback of photos or music contained in USB sticks or SD cards, very few among them can read all formats videos. Some read perfectly Divx SD and HD, and even offers the ability to resynchronize subtitles offset. The best models even read much of the HD formats, often compressed AVC-HD.

Getting the best display on your monitor

Windows selects the most suitable display, including screen resolution, refresh rate and color depending on your monitor. These parameters differ according to the monitor you have (LCD or CRT). If you want to change the display settings or the settings have been changed and you want to restore the default settings, follow the following recommendations.

LCD monitors, also called flat panel displays, have largely replaced CRT monitors. They are much lighter and thinner than the bulky CRT monitors, which contain heavy glass tubes. LCD monitors are also available in a wide range of shapes and sizes, including large screen in 16:9 or 16:10 screen and standard 4:3. The laptops also use flat screens.

Typically, LCD displays like CRT, the more you set the resolution in dots per inch (dpi), the more policies are clear. When you increase the PPP, you increase the screen resolution. The resolution used depends on the resolutions supported by your monitor. With high resolutions, such as 1900 x 1200 pixels, the elements are clearer. They also appear smaller and therefore more items fit on the screen. With lower resolutions, such as 800 x 600 pixels, fewer items fit on the screen, but they are larger.

Windows allows you to increase or decrease the font size and other items on the screen while maintaining the optimum resolution of your monitor. For more information, see the text larger or smaller on the screen.

Optimal display settings for an LCD monitor:
If you have an LCD monitor, check the screen resolution. You can then determine the clarity of the images on the screen. For LCD monitors, it is recommended to set the native resolution, ie the resolution of a monitor designed for optimal viewing depending on its size. For the native resolution of your monitor, check the display settings in Control Panel.

1.To open the screen resolution, click the Start button, click Control Panel, then under Appearance and Personalization, click Change the screen resolution.
2.Click on the drop-down list next to Resolution. Look for the resolution followed by the words (Recommended). This is the native resolution of your LCD monitor, usually the highest resolution that can be supported by your monitor.
The manufacturer or dealer of the monitor can also tell you the native resolution of your LCD monitor. (CRT monitors do not have a native resolution.)

The quality of the text displayed on an LCD monitor set to its native resolution is generally better than on a CRT monitor. Technically, LCD monitors can support lower resolutions than their native resolution. However, the text will not be as sharp and the picture may be small, centered and bordered in black or appear stretched. For more information, see Change your screen resolution.

To the extent that independent monitors are generally larger than laptop screens, they typically support higher resolutions.

The monitor or computer screen

Introduction to computer screens:

We call screen (or monitor) display device of the computer. There are usually two families of monitors:

* The CRT (CRT noted for Cathode Ray Tube), powering the majority of desktop computers. These monitors large and heavy, with a high power consumption.
* Flat screens fitted to all laptops, personal digital assistants (PDAs), digital cameras, as well as more and more desktops. These screens are compact in depth (hence the name), lightweight and with low power consumption.

Specifications:

Monitors are often characterized by the following:

* Definition: the number of dots (pixels) screen that can display this number of points is generally between 640x480 (640 points in length, 480 pixels wide) and 2048x1536, but higher resolutions are technically possible. The table below provides the definitions recommended by the size of the diagonal:
diagonal definition
15 " 800x600
17 " 1024x768
19 " 1280x1024
21 " 1600x1200

* Size: It is calculated by measuring the diagonal of the screen and is expressed in inches (one inch equals 2.54 cm). Care must be taken not to confuse the definition of the screen and size. Indeed a screen of a given size can display different definitions, however in general the large screens have a better definition. Standard sizes of the screens are the following (partial list):
o 14 inches, a diagonal of 36 cm;
o 15 inches, a diagonal of 38 cm;
o 17 inches, a diagonal of 43 cm;
o 19 inches, a diagonal of 48 cm;
o 21 inches. a diagonal of 53 cm;
* The dot pitch (dot pitch in English): This is the distance between two phosphors, the more it is little more the image is accurate. And a dot pitch less than or equal to 0.25 mm will provide a good user experience, while the screens having no mask at or above 0.28 mm are avoided.
* Resolution: This determines the number of pixels per unit area (pixels per linear inch (English DPI: Dots Per Inch, translate dots per inch). A resolution of 300 dpi means 300 columns and 300 rows of pixels in an inch square which would then 90,000 pixels on a square inch. The reference resolution of 72 dpi gives us a pixel 1 "/ 72 (one inch divided by 72) is 0.353mm, corresponding to a pica (a typographical unit Anglo-Saxon ).

Monitoring employees: paranoid psychosis and business

Employees of large companies have come to solve it: a single of their actions now immune to the wary eye of their superiors. Intrusive methods of control, which have increased with the development of new technologies, leaving less and less space to the private sphere. In practice, the content of e-mails sent or received with enterprise hardware (desktops and laptops, Blackberries, mobile phones, etc..) Can be easily viewed by their department. The same service will also learn and record which sites were consulted, and when, without having to add special device in the computer of the user. Most employees now know that this kind of draconian control is possible, but how is it really practiced by the companies?
A study by Forrester Consulting, 44% of large U.S. companies employ people whose mission is to monitor outbound email content business of the company, 48% say they make regular audits of the contents of messages. Justification? The fear that employees deliver sensitive information, a trade secret or data relating to intellectual property.
Obviously, there are side effects. Barriers to autonomy and freedom of action of employees easily exceed the limits of the trader, such as when a company equips its vehicles with GPS plotter so you can find 24 hours 24. And, of course, when it comes to monitor sites visited and e-mail messages without the knowledge of employees, in violation of respect for privacy.

In fact, many employers seem to mock the elementary rules of proportionality in monitoring. Such flicage Is provided illegal? "Companies can take advantage of legislation uncertain answers Bertil Cottier, a law professor of communication at the University of Italian Switzerland. Because the existing legal basis simply to define principles extremely general. The Federal Law on Data Protection (DPA), which governs the collection of information is very difficult to implement correctly. In addition, the federal commissioner for data protection has the sole authority to provide recommendations. To complain of abuse, we must go through a judge who, in most cases, not an understanding of these issues. "
The legal uncertainty is very bad in this area. "I often find with surprise that companies, even medium-sized or large, have no regulations regarding data protection observed in this regard Gilles Monnier, lawyer and professor at the Faculty of Law and Criminal Lausanne. Yet companies are required to organize themselves to achieve in practice the protection of personal data. Also noteworthy, in particular as regards industry, the ongoing monitoring of employee activity is prohibited under art. 26 of the Ordinance 3 of the Labour Act. "

Chair in Telecommunications and Safety at HEC Lausanne, Helie, Solange Ghernaouti provides a brief overview: "We must first note that the Internet, with its full range of tools for linking to anyone with anyone, anywhere, anytime, abolished not only the temporal and geographic boundaries but also those between work and private life, between working life and world of entertainment. This is a phenomenon whose consequences have not been taken into account and that there seems to discover potential problems with user-generated social networks. "

Install dual monitor on a PC

If you have enough space on your desk and you give importance to your visual comfort while you work, connect a second screen on your PC can be an economical solution. Indeed, an old monitor (in some cases, an old TV) will do nicely instead of buying a 21 inch rip off.

o avoid going from one window to another when you have several applications open and always keep an eye on the same document, the display on dual screen is the most appropriate way. By doubling the viewing area, it provides a much greater improvement in migrating to a larger monitor diagonally.

But such a facility is not available on all PCs. Indeed, the graphics card must have two VGA inputs, which is increasingly common in the two main manufacturers ATI and nVidia.

However, it is possible to add a second monitor to a laptop, it will always display the same image as its integrated display.

The procedure:
Start by identifying ways to connect. There are two types of sockets to connect a monitor, the VGA and DVI. You will find the first more often.

Your graphics card must provide two VGA connectors (photo) or a VGA and a DVI (DVI rarely two).

Once the connections are complete, restart your PC to be sure that your computer recognizes the new hardware.
Right click on the desktop and select its Properties.
Move to next tab Paramètres.Si you use an Nvidia card, you will be helped in your configuration by the wizard display.

Four settings are available: Single mode, using only one screen, Dual View, with instructors who are independent (two different applications are shown), the Extended mode, which offers a panoramic view stretching the image on both screens and Clone mode, which uses the same image on both monitors.

Nvidia drivers are most ergonomic, with simplified settings speak for themselves. The Ati socitété chose another organization. By default, the display is in Clone: The two screens show the same thing.

After you click on Advanced (Settings tab), a window with multiple tabs will appear.
Click on Overlay, how theater can dedicate one monitor to the video streaming. This is the equivalent of the Dual View mode. Indeed, the video memory is divided by the screen, simultaneous display of the same film can not be done on both monitors.

For an enlarged image spread over both screens, handling is more evident. On the Settings tab, click the screen 2 and select Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor.

Warning: some programs do not allow dual display. This is particularly true of some games.
